“Where is it Made?”
Honda of Canada Manufacturing (HCM) in Alliston Ontario opened in 1986. Today HCM has three Ontario plants including a new Engine Plant. HCM has an annual capacity of 390,000 units which are sold in Canada as well as exported to over 10 countries. Honda builds more Vehicles in Canada than they sell. We’re proud of our Canadian Built Civics.
Vehicle Identification Numbers let you know where a Vehicle is made. The first character represents the country where the vehicle is manufactured.
2 is CANADA
1, 4 or 5 is USA
3 is Mexico
6 is Australia
9 is Brazil
J is Japan
K is Korea
S is England
T or W is Germany
Personally, I would like to see it become mandatory for Manufacturers to put the Flag of the country from which the vehicle is manufactured on the required Manufacturer’s Price Sticker.
